Publication Ethics
SABANA: Journal of Dryland Agriculture & Innovation (JDAI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the scholarly publishing process. This policy applies to authors, editors, reviewers, and all parties involved in the editorial and publication processes.
1. Authors' Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must present research data and findings honestly, accurately, and transparently, and properly acknowledge all sources used.
All individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research should be appropriately recognized as authors. Authors are also responsible for declaring potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding, and for obtaining the necessary approvals when research involves human participants, animals, or other regulated resources.
2. Plagiarism and Publication Misconduct
SABANA has zero tolerance for plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, duplicate submission, and other forms of academic misconduct. Allegations of misconduct will be taken seriously and may result in manuscript rejection, article retraction, or other corrective actions depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
3. Editors' Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, objective, transparent, and independent editorial process. Publication decisions must be based on scientific quality, relevance, originality, and alignment with the journal's focus and scope, without discrimination based on identity, affiliation, background, or other non-academic factors.
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use information obtained during the editorial process for personal or professional advantage.
4. Reviewers' Responsibilities
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, constructively, and professionally. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and avoid any actual or potential conflicts of interest. Reviewers who lack the appropriate expertise or are unable to complete a review within the required timeframe should promptly notify the editor.
5. Conflicts of Interest
All individuals involved in the publication process must disclose any conflict of interest that could influence the objectivity of the editorial process or scholarly evaluation. Editors may assign alternative reviewers or take other appropriate measures when a conflict of interest could compromise the independence of the peer-review process.
6. Corrections and Retractions
SABANA is committed to maintaining the integrity of the published scholarly record. Corrections, retractions, or other editorial actions may be issued when there is sufficient evidence of significant errors, ethical violations, or unreliable research findings.
SABANA's publication ethics policy follows internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing ethics and may be updated in accordance with developments in academic publishing standards.
